B.Sc (CS) is for the one who comes with a decent amount of mathematics background as it is oriented towards fundamentals like mathematics, computer architecture and theoretical computer science. So theoretical and in-depth knowledge of computers is focused more, along with a basic knowledge of databases and programming technologies. This prepares you well for further studies, research, or computing jobs.
Like B.Sc CS, BCA is an undergraduate course in computer applications with a duration of 3 years (6 semesters). It is well suited to students who come from a non-math background. The course is about learning design, development and use of computer applications for industrial
and real-life problems. Therefore, BCA focuses more on learning technical tools like programming languages such as C, C++, Java, database tools, networking, and other technologies. Hence, BCA prepares you for professional roles in IT companies and higher studies.
Candidates who have passed 10+2 with 45% or more aggregate marks in Arts, Non-Medical, Medical or Commerce stream are eligible to apply for BCA.
BCA offers a huge scope in all the computer-dependent fields. Software /IT industry: BCA opens the door as entry-level jobs in all the software-based MNCs for roles as a web developer or application developer, networking and database administrator.
